The remainder of the territory, the Diamar?Plain and the El Be�d River valley, is made up of ferruginous soils.

The soil cover can be divided into two broad types, viz . the red ferruginous soil in the hill area and the alluvium in the valley.

The extreme northwest of the province has ferruginous soil instead, and many of the province's mountains, including the Gotels and Mambilas, contain mixtures of several soil types.
